AVID Class

Coin Drive

This is your eighth grade AVID class with Mr. Pizzica. AVID is a class to prepare students for success in high school and college, or also known as a “college preparatory” class. AVID is known for helping students build collaborative skills, and with a bit of help, we were able to put this project together. We have decided as a whole to donate money to wildfire victims all throughout California.

Thousands of people have lost their homes and have majorly been affected, from the recent Caldor fire which left the Grizzly Flats community with little to nothing left and the Santa Cruz fires, who those who were affected are still recovering over a year later.

We plan on having a coin drive to raise a goal of $300 to donate to the American Red Cross. This will begin on October 18th through November 5th. Coin collection will happen in 4th period classes. There will be three prizes for the first, second, and third place classes to raise money, so be sure to bring any change in your back pocket, anything helps! There will be 3 prizes in all, so bring your extra change to root for your class. If you can donate, it would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!
