MMS Teams Excel in World Scholar's Cup 2019

Monroe students (pictured above) represented us very well at the 2019 World Scholar's Cup San Jose Regional Round at Del Mar High School last weekend.

Six teams of students competed in events, and three of our 8th graders competed in the high school senior division! Some students also qualified for a Global Round event which takes place overseas during the summer.

The World Scholar's Cup is an international team academic program with students participating from over 50 countries. Teams of three compete in four different events: Team Debate, Scholar's Bowl, Collaborative Writing, and Scholar's Challenge.  The competition was founded in 2006 “to motivate students of all backgrounds to discover new strengths and practice new skills, and to inspire a global community of future scholars and leaders.”
