A Message from Principal Eric Brown
Welcome back one and all! 

I’m excited to be back at Monroe as Principal.  It has been 11 years since I was an administrator here, and I can’t wait to greet students and staff as they return to our campus.

I have worked in Campbell Union School District for 26 years (13 years as a Physical Education teacher at Campbell Middle School, 10 years as Assistant Principal at Monroe, Campbell, and Castlemont, and the last 3 years as Principal at Castlemont). 

I absolutely love working in this District. The families and community members that we work with are truly fantastic.

Joining me on Monroe's administrative team:

Assistant Principal Cathy McAvoy (pictured left) who marks her 31st year in education this year. Eight of those years were spent as a sixth-grade ELA/SS and ELD teacher at Monroe. In addition to teaching at Monroe, she has been the Assistant Principal at Castlemont, District Literacy Coach, and taught grades 4-5 at Blackford.

Veronica Flores (pictured center) begins her second year as Assistant Principal. Her 12 years at Monroe include teaching Spanish and ELD, and supporting her peers as an Equity Coach.

We look forward to meeting all of our Monroe students and families in the coming weeks and to seeing our students excel with skills as self-directed, innovative, collaborative, empathetic, critical thinkers!
