Monroe Middle School

Leadership Changes for 2019-20 Announced

Message from the Superintendent

Dear Monroe Middle School Families,

Educating students to their highest potential is job one for all of us in Campbell Union School District. As we work toward successfully completing this school year, we also are looking ahead at how to provide the best support to students in the next school year.

When school begins on August 22nd, Monroe will have a new administrative team. Mr. Rodriguez has accepted an administrative position at Rolling Hills Middle School, and Castlemont Principal Eric Brown and Assistant Principal Catherine McAvoy will join Assistant Principal Veronica Flores in leading Monroe’s programs for students, staff, and families.

With more than 25 years of experience as a school administrator and educator, Principal Brown is known as a strong instructional leader who is committed to providing excellent learning experiences for students. As Monroe’s new Assistant Principal of Teaching and Learning, Ms. McAvoy brings more than 18 years of experience to the post, with strengths in curriculum development and instructional leadership. Both Mr. Brown and Ms. McAvoy have previously worked at Monroe. Completing the administrative team is Ms. Flores, who will continue as Monroe’s Assistant Principal of Social-Emotional Learning.

We believe these administrators will create a strong and effective team committed to continuing the great programs at Monroe, elevating the school experience for students, staff and families, and preparing our future graduates for the challenges of a yet-to-be-defined future.

Sincerely,

Shelly Viramontez, Ed.D., Superintendent
