Monroe Middle School

Principal's Message- January 31, 2019

Today, we complete the month of January.

Yesterday, in conversation with a group of students in the lunch line, I took the time to explain to students that at Monroe we learn to complete tasks and goals each and every day.

Tomorrow, we begin the month of February and look forward with intentionality to complete the tasks and goals within the day, week and month.

Take the time today, to speak with your child about the tasks and goals they would like to complete today, tomorrow, this week and this comming month.

Note: School theme this year "Everybody Matters and Every Day Counts"

High School Programming

Each year our local high schools provide our 8th grade students with high school scheduling information, program/course offerings, extra curricula activites, and sport information. Our 8th grade students will be meeting with the associated high school they will be attending as determined by the High School District.

In preparation, our 8th grade students have been provided A- G graduation requirement information provided by our counseling team Mrs. Bowman and Mrs. Marquez. As a parent/ guardian continue to speak with your student about their scheduling options and the A- G graduation requirments.

Facilities Update

The gate entrance on Van Sansul Ave will be closed begining Feb. 1, 2019. The portable area next to Van Sansul Ave. has been leased. Students will now need to be dropped in the front of school on Monroe or Clover entrances of the campus. Also, students will need to walk around to the front of the school since Van Sansul is now closed to accomodate lease ocupants.
