Student Services
Monroe Middle School Counseling Department offers a comprehensive counseling program to all students that includes academic, social/emotional, and college/career support. We believe that all students can reach their full potential. The counseling program focuses on the development of students and achieving a balanced Middle School experience.
Advanced Band
Advanced band is Monroe's top musical ensemble and is open to 7th and 8th graders. Students give many performances during the year and it is a fast paced, fun, and intense class. Participation in the class is open to students that prove their readiness in class or by audition at the beginning of the year.

After School
Monroe Middle School offers a wide range of after school options, including academic enrichment opportunities, sports, homework help, performing arts and more! Some options are available through our Campbell Union School District Expanded Learning programs, while others are organized by MMS teachers. Details are available from the school office or by contacting the CUSD Expanded Learning Department.
Arts
Spend the year exploring your creative side. Students will have the opportunity to look at and make art, applying techniques and skills using different materials. During the year, students will study the elements and principles of design. We will think about, talk about and make judgments on works of art, including our own. Critiques are in both verbal and written forms.
ASB/Student Council
Associated Student Body (ASB) members are democratically elected class officers that help oversee campus events. MMS ASB consists of four elected officers: president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer. Each 5th period class elects a representative to attend meetings.
ASB works with our Leadership Teacher Ms. Parrott to guide planning for school spirit activities, dances, and other social and awareness events.
Congrats to our newly elected 22-23 ASB Officers:

Athletics
UPDATES COMING SOON
Monroe Middle School offers competitive sports for boys and girls. The sports offered are wrestling, cross-country, soccer, volleyball, track and field, and basketball. Sports try-outs are advertised at school and on the morning announcements.
AVID
The purpose of AVID (Grades 7 & 8) is to prepare students for success in high school and college. The course has strict qualifying standards, and helps students by teaching study and organization skills, strengthening writing skills, provides tutorial help via college tutors, builds leadership potential, teaches students to work collaboratively, and provides kids a glimpse at college applications and college life. Guest speakers share their secrets to success, and students tour Bay Area colleges. This is a class that will most definitely set students on a successful path.
Band
Music energizes and enlivens learning.
We look forward to being able to resume these and other enriching opportunities when pandemic restrictions are lifted.
Monroe Middle School offers beginning, intermediate, and advanced band courses, and students have the opportunity to try a variety of instruments. Also, the MMS band performs in several afternoon events, local community parades, and regional competitions. They are graded on a range of musical elements, including instrument practice, playing tests, written tests, daily participation, and performances.
Beginning Band
Beginning Band is for students interested in learning and playing an instrument, including the flute, clarinet, oboe, saxophone, bassoon, trumpet, trombone, french horn, baritone, tuba, and percussion (drums). There is absolutely no experience necessary. Beginning Band will participate in several concerts at Monroe and the Campbell Heritage Theater.

Core Academics
New ideas. New concepts. New skills.
Educating students to their highest potential. That is our mission.
Grades 6 through 8 is when our students explore core subjects more deeply and discover new interests and skills that may continue through high school and beyond. Our teachers provide strong core academic instruction through their broad knowledge of the subject matter, standards-based curriculum, and creative lesson design.
