Monroe Starts a New Cheer Team

Tryouts for the 23-24 cheer team will begin the first week of school.

This past year Monroe started its first cheer team.  Headed by teacher, Desirey Madrid, the team consisted of 8 girls and a boy.  They held practice two times a week and began performing at the girls' basketball games in October.  Madrid was formerly the cheer coach at Del Mar and has used her experience to create excitement for Monroe's team.  Her goal is to grow the program and possibly enter team competitions in the 24-25 school year.
