6TH GRADERS

We have scheduled a 6th grade orientation meeting for this Wednesday at 1pm.  This zoom meeting will be a chance to have some fun, learn a little bit about middle school and to connect with our 7th and 8th grade WEB (Where Everyone Belongs) student leaders and 6th grade staff members.

The link is in your email, and will be sent again.  This will probably last around 45 min. to an hour and should be a lot of fun.  We apologize for the last minute information as we have been working on ways to do our regular orientation online.  We are so excited to meet you all.  See you on Wednesday

Updated Fri, Apr 8th

Dear Monroe Families,

We hope you are well.  We acknowledge that this summer was not like summers past, but we hope you have had time to relax and connect with family.  We know that there are lots of questions and unknowns for the upcoming school year.  This is new for all of us.  At Monroe Middle School we are focused on ensuring connectedness, clarity, and compassion for our students, families, and staff.

School Schedule

We appreciate everyone’s patience as we continue to work out all the details for our Distance Learning scheduling.  There are a lot of elements and we want to communicate the most complete and accurate plan.  More information to come.

School Site Council Members Needed

We are looking for parent/guardian volunteers who would be willing to join our School Site Council.  This is an elected position, the term is two years, and we have three openings.  The School Site Council provides feedback and input into school programming and budgeting.  If you are interested please email Ms. Radle with a brief personal introduction.

School Uniforms

At the end of last year, we finalized the process to no longer have school uniforms.  For the 2020-2021 school year, we will have a dress code policy.  The details of the policy will be in the student handbook.  This policy will be aligned with district expectations and guidelines.

School Start Date Change

The first day of the 2020-2021 school year has been moved to Monday, August 24th.

As always we are here to answer your questions.  We appreciate you and your support for our school.

Dear Monroe Community,

The Executive Board of the Monroe PTA wishes to send our support to our community and families as we navigate this challenging time.  We hope you and your families are safe and healthy.

We would like to thank our community and families for supporting PTA this year.  With your membership funds and donations, we were able to help provide new library books, support teachers with classroom supplies, provide funds for after school sports and support the welcome back teacher lunch.
We owe much gratitude to our administrators, teachers, and staff for their support this year.  The PTA appreciates your dedication not only to our students and community but to our PTA organization as well.
The Monroe PTA is committed to resuming as many activities as possible once we are able to do so safely and responsibly.  Please check our website for updates and reach out to us if you have any questions.
If your family is in need of support during this time, please see this information offered in Spanish and in English for various community resources being offered.
We thank you all for your support this school year.
The Monroe PTA

We hope everyone is staying safe and healthy as we enter week 5 of our new normal in schools.  Yesterday, teachers shared the expectations with students about Distance Learning. Here is the information we shared with your children about the Distance Learning Expectations.

There have been quite a few requests for tech support that need to be handled in person.  In Thursday’s email, we will have an update on how we will be handling this process moving forward. We are also finalizing grading expectations and will share that information with you this week.

Be well and stay safe.  We miss your children very much.
